Our birth certificate in the name column states "not mentioned" handwritten in pen.

We got our GC by Consular Process and we did not have any problem when we went for our interview to Chennai.

Do any of you have the same kind of birth certificate and did it cause any problems. We are planning to file for citizenship be end of December 06.

Would appreciate any expert advise and comments

I have never heard of any case where the interview officer asked for birth certificate while acting on a naturalization application.

Hi Takadigi,

Well, there is always a first one, isnt there?

The IO asked my wife for her birth certificate (since she was not clear about how her name was spelt), and kept a copy of the English translation. Hope that helps.

To get a head start, try to get a affidavit from your parents .I had a similar problem and a affidavit from my parents, attested by CGI solved the issue.
This is just to be prepared for all eventualities.
