Birth Certificate?

My wife has birth certificate from hospital and discharge slip too. But that don’t have name of baby (my wife). But It has date of birth, place of birth, address and parents name.

Does that work? What we have to do for name because that is missing?

I have the same problem with birth certificate. I did not have the original birth certificate from the Municipal corporation. So I got the birth certifacte from the Consulate in San Fransisco based on my passport. According to INS, it is acceptable.

I confirmed from USCIS call centre 1-800-375-5283
I also confirmed from the Consulate. According to the Consulate, they issue birth certificates on daily basis for GC processing.

I am extremely happy and surprised to get the email this morning.
I did not have the birth certificate. Got it from Consulate which mentioned
"On the basis of passport....... "
Going thru this forum, I was a bit tensed bcos everywhere it said that birth certificate from consulate is not of much help. But took a chance....For me it worked. May be I am one of the lucky guys.....
