Birth Certificate Translation?

For the birth certificate sent with I485, I got that from my country several years ago and it is in my country's language and also english translation. Is that enough for USCIS?

I am just wondering do I have to send it to any US translation company to do translation? Will USCIS acknowledge my country's english translation?

yeah,they will.They did mine,I don't see any reason why they shouldn't accept yours.As long as it is notarized,I don't think you should have any problems.
 
Thanks a lot. Just start my DIY-immigration process now through my citizen wife. Pretty nervous about every steps. I guess I will post my progress here after I submit all my application forms.
 
Does anyone know exactly what kind of authority's translation does USCIS accepts? If we get a foreign language document translated in the foreign country what kind of proof does USCIS needs that the translator is acceptable? On the other hand, if one gets the document translated here locally (in the US), who can perform this? The key question is - What is it that qualifies a person to translate... be it here in US or in the foreign county?

There is no qualificatoin of translator necessary. You can translate by yourself and ask your friends who understand both language to attest it.
USCIS will accept it.
 
Yep, I translated myself too. The USCIs website also has a template for you to add to the bottom of the page certifying that you understand both languages. I didn't get RFE for my translation, so it should be good to go.
