Hi BC experts,

I would advise if some can give me idea on the BC issues.

Mine , proper BC issued from Municipality. It contains both English/Tamil
Description as normally issued from Municipality. It does have Full names of
mine & parents names but does have LastName (Initials) . Firstname for everybody ( i.e J.Firstname ) and registered on the same born birth year
(1974).

Wife - Same as above ( Initials.Firstname) for her/parents from Govt/Health Department issued on later date since not born on hosipital. It also contains
English/Tamil and also ( Translated version ) at the top.

Now according to my lawyer ( I-485) checklist packet , if BC doesn't full names of individuals, parents and not registered within 1 year of birth , 2 notarized affidavit is reqd.

I guess most of the people would have same issues, ( Full names) not listed and do we even require affidavit for this. My lawyer would always insist, but i don't want this to be issue for delay on filings since Visa bulletin might change, Immigration bill could become law and ofcourse need to file before skyrocked fee structure(July 31).

Any feedback / info would be great.

------------------that is correct get the 2 affidavits on stamp paper signed before Notary

-----it is better to get the affidavits

------------------- you can get affidavits made in 2 hours and then your parents can Scan the affidavits and can send you through email, take the print and attach with I-485(they need only Copy) later parents can send you by mail.
Any feedback / info would be great.

There is an alternative to this sticky situation.
Most of the municipalities in India, especially in and around Cities, have revamped the Birth Certificate process. I was in a similar situation, asked my Dad to visit the local office, and we got a fresh, new, completely in English, with full names of parents and myself....in a day or so.
Might not be bad to consider that route... in my opinion.
