Birth Certificate Full Name Question

Hi,

I've a question about full name on the birth certificate. After my marriage, my wife changed her middle name. Previously, her middle name was her dad's first name. Now, her middle name is my first name. Our last names are same, so that wasn't changed. Her passport is per her new middle name because it was applied after we got married.

I'm now in the process of getting the birth certificate for my wife. I know that it needs to have her full name. Should this full middle name at the time of her birth or should it reflect the new middle name. Only middle name has changed.

Or will USCIS accept full name to be just First and Last Name? This way, it wouldn't matter what her middle name is.

Thanks a million.

-------------they also need her Middle name
This way, it wouldn't matter what her middle name is.

Thanks a million.
If your name is RAM KUMAR SHARMA
And your wife has SITA RAM KUMAR SHARMA on her passport (that she got after marriage to you)
AND her Father Name is RAMAN KUMAR then she may be having her name before marriage as SITA RAMAN KUMAR SHARMA

If she gets her birth certificate and that has her name is SITA RAMAN KUMAR SHARMA then she need affidavit that her name before marriage to RAM KUMAR SHARMA was SITA RAMAN KUMAR SHARMA (her maiden name)

Along with her affidavit she can also submit affidavit prom her parents that SITA RAM KUMAR SHARMA is the real daughter of……… and was born on date… at place (as on passport) and she got married to RAM KUMAR SHARMA on date… and she changed her name after marriage as SITA RAM KUMAR SHARMA. SITA RAMAN KUMAR SHARMA and SITA RAM KUMAR SHARMA are the same person.

Just a follow up question...

If the authority issuing birth certificate is able to amend the middle name and issues the birth certificate reflecting the latest middle name, should that suffice?

Or shall we still try to get a certificate with her middle name at the time of birth and then get affidavits as you suggest below.

Both options may be possible. Just need to figure which one we should take.

-----------------how she can have that name at the time of her birth was registred?? do you mean she had married name at birth or when her birth was registred?

You're correct. She didn't have the married name at the time of her birth or when her birth was registered.

We'll take the second route as you suggested.

Thanks very much for your input.
