Birth certificate and marriage certificate - any issue date is fine?

Searching and reading the forums is part of people's homework... just tell them to do it.

Pryanik :)

Yeah - I understand - and I have posted a couple of thousand times to help with that, but I do think people need to relax and think a little more clearly - if only for their own blood pressure....

Hilarious. I still think it is a very valid question to ask if an extract from the official records for your birth registration is expected to have been issued recently. Nothing lacking common sense here.

Anyway, we will be going with what we have.
EXTRACTS from the birth register, issued in 1997.
US Marriage certificate and apostille, dated 1996, as originals plus EXTRACT from the local registration of the same in my home country, dated 1997.

Peace.
:p

OTG - we may have discussed this already - but are the birth certs the long form ones?

Each of our birth certs is detailing the relevant municipality, outlining that this is an extract of the register of birth, it then lists the place of birth, date of birth, sex, surname and given name, as well as full names of both parents.
It then displays the date of issue, signature and seal of keeper.

They are actual printed forms, completed by typewriter.

I had been wondering what exactly they mean by 'long form' but I assume it means it should contain the names of the parents?

Exactly that - the parentage is important in these matters so the long form cert (which contains both parents names) is usually required.

Cheers! Looks like we are all set, with regard to birth and marriage certs, after all.

place of date of birth!

my child had born on hospital.may i get his birth certificate from any place of my country?

Yep I understand but what I meant was do you not already have a birth certificate for your child? I thought they would have issued one when you registered the birth.
Till now,i havenot gone to register his birth record and it is common in my country but my concern is only that whether i can register his records in any places of the country or only where i have been permanently living.

That question is very country specific and has more to do with the regulations in your country than the DV.

Hi can someone tell me if there is any requirement regarding the date of issue of birth and marriage certificates?

Our birth certificates (extracts from the official records) that we have available are original documents and dated 1996, while the marriage certificate is dated 1997.

I cannot see any requirement as to date of issue:

In Albania is a limit of 1 year no more old that 1 year.

You asked:
can i register his records in any places of the country or only where i have been permanently living.

i am asking this question whether there is any common international norms on it!

Well, the DV process makes no mention of any date expiration on issued birth certificates. So unless you know for sure that YOUR country puts an expiry date on the 'validity' of your document AND this date is likely to be past your expected interview date, THEN (and only then) you may consider contacting the embassy where you expect to have your interview and ask them.

The question he was asking was about where to obtain birth certificates in his own country!! Nothing to do with DV other than that' being the purpose he needs one:
