In what circumstances are we allowed to take affidavits from parents for birth certificate?
What else do we need to take in addition to affidavits from parents?
 
"Non- Availability certificate" from the municipality of your birth

and then affidavits together to prove your DOB

Affidavits are needed only if a gov issued BC is not available and for this usually you need to get a non availability certificate from muncipality/corporation/panchayat etc. In addition take your school leaving certificate with your DOB
