Biometrics Question ?

For those of you who already have had their Biometrics taken, I have a couple of questions:

1) What takes place during this appointment?

2) Do they take your NOA for finger prints or give it back? can you just bring a copy?

3) What happens after this? Name Check? Interview Appointment? Do I get any more NOAs?

Thanks guys, :)

1) Fingerprinting and a picture is taken (depends on the code mentioned on your FP notice)

2) They stamp and initial it. Take the original with you

3) You should see LUDs for your I-765 and I-485 if you have applied for it. When you receive the interview letter is independent of when your FP was. You will receive that based on the speed of your DO. You will receive NOAs only for what you file for- ex: 765, 131, 130, 485.

LUD... Lost Understanding Data? Lol

I have figured out most of the stuff on this forum, except for this. How do I send LUDs? what exactly is a LUD?

Any I idea how long will it take to process an I-131? I send it it today and I need it in 2 months 10 days. Am I pushing it?

LUD = last update date

I am not sure how long it takes for I-131. Like for anything else, the answer is, it depends. You may or may not receive it by then. Slim chance but if everything goes super smooth you may even receive your GC by then. There is no sure shot way to tell unfortunately.
For your reference, my DO is San Jose (pretty efficient thus far) and I sent my stuff exactly 2 months ago, my interview in this Thursday but I haven't heard anything about my 131 approval (which makes sense- if in the best case scenario I get approved this Thursday at the interview or by end of the month, then I don't need 765 or 131)

So... well, things seem to be moving pretty fast here too... If I send the I-131 and my GC gets approved before the I-131 does... then I just gave them $ 170.00 =P

Don't you love burocracy?

Oh well, I will rather play it safe.

Thanks.

Things may appear to be moving fast, but that just means that FBI namecheck is even more likely not to be cleared when you have your interview. If you are stuck in FBI namecheck, you'll be glad to have that AP/EAD.

What is the logic behind this statement? Is it based on experience, a hunch, prophetic inspiration?

It's based on what is very likely to happen (based off of what happens to others). Let's say your background check takes 6 months, but if your interview is 3 months after USCIS received your application, and you get approved BUT for the background check--you have to wait for the GC to arrive in the mail ONCE your background check is complete.

The immigration officer has no idea when this check will be complete. So in the meantime that you are waiting for your GC to arrive, what if you need to travel? That's when your AP will come in handy. Same logic behind wanting to have the EAD card.

Well, yes, I am new here... but why does a background (I have none) check takes 6 months? =S

Well, if anyone of us knew the answer to that one, we'd be selling it for cash. Sit back and relax- Your questions will get answered as your case unfolds.
