Hi All,
My wife gott a biometrics notice (code 1), and currently she is in India. The appointment is on 8/17 and there is no option given for re-scheduling. Is there a way to re-schedule the appointment. Anybody done this before. Any help is appreciatetd.

samething happenned in my case and given a very limited time i had preponed my wifes travel and brought her back.

I called USCIS and the officer said we cannot re-schedule on the phone, and the applicant has to write a letter with a proper reason to USCIS. Sounded more risky than spending $1000 extra for her air ticket. She will come back and give her biometrics.

Thanks for your reply.

I had the same situation. Two months back my wife received her Code 1 biometrics letter (second time) while she was in India. (I am glad I am here to see that letter). The letter does not say anything like 'you may attend any following wednesday' etc which I saw on some such letters.
I called USCIS office. They could not proper response. I went to the local office, where we have appointment and explained the situation. My wife is out of country on advance parole which not unusual. The lady at the counter said we can attend within next 84 days, though it does not say in the letter. I confirmed with her two three times. She even said "it seems you are too much worried" (ofcourse I am ). My wife came back from India as per the schedule. She gave her fingerprints. We did not have any problem so far. It has been week days I am checking for LUD change. However I am not worried too much about the LUD change since even for her first FP there was no LUD change.
I would say check with your local office. Best of luck.
