Hi Guys,
I got a email from my lawyer saying that they got a letter from USCIS for my biometrics appointment. My 485 is not approved yet. had my finger prints last year (may 2004). Now, what is this biometrics..does that mean my 485 is approved. I am also affected with retro.

I applied in August and I received a Biometrics notice. It doesn't mean a thing :D They are going to take a digital picture and index fingerprint which will go on your green card WHEN it gets approved. They will also take your signature.

Good luck!

how come the biometrics notice went to Ur lawyer ... it should have had come to Ur home address ... It means that he did not give Ur right address for Ur 485.
Well it might not affect the things ..

Biometrics ordered for U ... don't get excited as U are from retro country... U may get many biometrics between this and plastic card ...

At the most Ur application might have become "documentary OK" but this state department is going to hold the visa number for ever....

Don't Know when that good time will come to me

Lets all hope & pray that PD's will be become current soon.. very very soon

If I may offer some logical words regarding this matter.

Based on what I understand, FP is for background check and Biometrics is for generation of the physical card. The card can be a GC or something else like work authorization document. Take this information and interpret it as you best see fit. Meanwhile, I wish you, me, and everyone else here best of luck and success in our journey for GC.

Biometrics transfer

Hello All,

I'm a S/w contractor who applied for GC with my sister's address in cincinnati, just to maintain one address for communication. I used to work around that area and used to be easy to attend INS in cincinnati, but I've moved to Seattle recently and I got my ASC appointment notice for the biometrics at cincinnati. What I'm asking is, is it possible for me to transfer the biometrics appointment to Seattle? I would really appreciate if anyone can let me know on how to do this, I tried searching for a local INS number but I could not find it.

Thank you for your time,

Kiran

Unfortunately, that doesn't mean is about to get processed. I got my FP in two weeks after filing I-485 and 8 months later I am still waiting. It varies.

You can just go attend in Seattle. Don't mention anything. Just go to INS Application center in Seattle and show the documents required. They should do it.

One of my friends who needs to give biometrics in Chicago gave them in Salt Lake City recently and they did it.

Biometrics go to attorney 'also' if you have attached a G28 to your 485 and the attorney has signed on the application.
Similarly for any other applications if there is a G28, Attorney gets the original and you get a copy except for Actual GC and Citizenship details.
