I (petitioner) got my biometrics notice in the mail the other day. It is set for Monday

Does my wife (sponsor) have to attend??

Only you have to go and get it done. They dont care for anyone else. If you also live near the Biometrics center you can try to do an early walk in. Sometimes it works and others not depending on the people working there. But it does speed up your process some if you can get it in early. Good luck on your process.
 
The only person that NEEDS to be at your biometric appointment is YOU. At this appointment you'll be fingerprinted so that the FBI can run a background check on you (using these prints). Once you "pass" that clearance, then your case will move forward. BUT if your wife has the time and/or energy, she can go along with you if she wants. It's just that her presence is not required.
