Biometrics Appointment not yet received

Hi

My I-131 application (GC Reentry) was received in Lincoln, NE on 12/17/09 and the receipt message was mailed by USCIS on 12/23/2009. However, until now I have not received anything regarding the biometrics appointment.

Is there any chance they will let me do the biometrics without at least the biometrics appointment letter? I wanted to leave the US at the end of this week.

Thanks for your help.

Looks like it is up to me to answer my own question ;-)

I just went to our local USCIS office in St Albans (VT) today and met very friendly and helpful people there. And they did take my biometrics even though I had not yet received the appointment letter :)

It may have helped that the office was not very crowded, but I'm still grateful.

Same boat here , I send mine on Dec 22 and haven't got fingerprinting yet.
Travel plans for this weekend.

I heard they don't allow you in without the fingerprint notice.
How did you managed to do this ?

TIA

How did they associate your biometrics with your Receipt #?

All I did was explain the situation briefly (company asked me to travel) and showed them the first letter I received - so nothing really special. And they checked how many people they had waiting (there weren't really any) and said they could do the biometrics.

I guess I was just lucky, but it was definitely worth trying.

Well, actually I don't know. There is a case number (LIN...) on the first receipt letter and I guess they took this. Also they stamped my letter and wrote the biometric relating data (some numbers) on it as a prove.

If they will be able to proceed me without another invitation to the biometrics, I don't know yet. But in case I get one I will call them and explain the situation. Since other people have been able to use "older" biometrics (from other applications), that should not be a problem.

I will let you know how everything will work out.

Just wanted to let you know it all worked out well - I just received the note that the travel document was printed and is on it's way to me
