Does anybody on here happen to know what is the difference between getting a "biometric visa" at the US consulate and getting enrolled in US-VISIT. When does enrollment in US-VISIT actually happen, at the time a person obtains a visa or at the time they cross a US border? Because DOS started biometric visa program well before US-VISIT was launched, so my question is if a person obtained a "biometric visa" before US-VISIT was launched at the airports, would his/her data still be available in US-VISIT or would it simply be stored in DOS "biometric visa" database and available to officers only if a person applied for admission at the POE?
Based on info thats available I understand that US-VISIT is interfaced with DOS biometric visa database in order authenticate visa vaildity at the border, but they are not actually same databanks. Is that correct?
Thanks!
