I just received my bio notice. It's code 2 (index finger, picture and signature). I did my FP in the middle of May 2004, so it will expire in the mid August. Obviously my GC is not likely to be approved by then, so I'm worried about the expiring FP. I wish they asked me to do code 3 this time. What can I do? Can I ask ASC if they can do code 3 for me or I have to wait for another bio notice to do code 1 (FP)? Any suggestion? Thanks.

Go ahead to finish up your bio fingerprint. Bio fingerprint is required for generation of your GC purpose, whereas 1st FP you did in May 2004 is for background check purpose.
I don't think you will receive a 3rd notice from CIS for fingerprint since you will be done with all required stepts towards to your GC after you finish up bio.
After bio, just wait for your approval letter coming.

I guess you should get your PR by end of the year. No rush here, just make sure your RFI and BIO have been received by NSC. What else you can do, other than post some relevant information here.

As I told you, my timeline is not the point in our conversation. That won't give you a clue on how soon will you get you PR. Give some more time to NSC; indeed, they are "running at least on schedule (which means they probably running ahead the schedule at this time) even though they don't intend to update the chart at this time or in the near future" per WIND's thread. From the NSC timeline of processing cases now, I guess you should get it in next two weeks.
