Hi Guys,

I recently submitted my petition for GC (H1 B holder married to a USC), my Biometrics appointment is to be held on 04/24 and was wondering if you can anticipate a time frame for the arrival of my EAD based upon the date of Biometrics?

Lastly, can you tell me what happens during the Biometric appointment, any tips or suggestions for it and what documents need to be carried along for the appointment?

Appreciate your help in advance and looking forward to your guidance.

Thanks,
VS

Why don't you add your timeline along with the district office you belong to in your signature line so that it could help many to expect what could be their timeline as well? Just by your posting, no one can know when did you file the application, when USCIS received your application, when you received the NOA on your application, when is your fingerprint, which district office you belong to, marraige case or other, etc...etc

You need to show up ASC (Application Support Center) with a govt. issued ID with the appointment letter. Foreign passport is also a govt. issued ID. When you go inside the office, there is a form you will need to fill out wherein you will write your particulars such as- height, weight, ethnicity, any visible sign and etc. Then someone will check that along with your identification and will send you in another room to take your fingerprints wherein the fingerprints of your all fingers on both hands will be obtained digitally on a machine (no ink). After that they will stamp your copy and you are done. You go home as a happy person knowing one step is done towards becoming legal.

Thanks a ton for the reply.

Here is the additional information that may be of some help -
Petition was submitted on April 2nd at the Chicago office, whereas I live in LA.
NOA was received on April 10th and Letter for Biometric Appointment on April 13th. It will be held on 04/24.

Sir/Mam, based on the above can you please anticipate a time frame for the arrival of my EAD?

Thanks,
VS

Timeframe

Vishals,

if you look on the other postings you will get an estimate. I.e. look on the January 2009 filer posting - many people posted there, and most of them use a signature (like mine) - so other people can easily find out where they stand. Hope this helps.

Great. Thanks for the help. Looks like getting a EAD may take around 60 days.
My FP is on April 24th. Can you tell me that till what time/step can I expect a RFE from USCIS? Haven't got any so far.

Regards,

Do not forget to put your district office or location like which state you are in. This is the most important information 90% of the applicants don't bother to put. Thus, their timeframe doesn't mean much nor help many. Why? Because timeframe is location/district office specific. For example, a timeline of a person from LA won't help much to other person from NY. That's why it's VERY important to put your location as well on the signature along with timeframe of your case.

Thanks. Can you shed some light on the RFE part of the GC application i.e.
can you tell me that till what time/step can I expect a RFE from USCIS? Haven't got any so far.
