big disadvantages of perm and backlog reduction

HI,

we r all anxious to see perm and backlog centers working to get a faster green card. but the thing is that there are 300000 lc waitng in dol. once those backlog reduction plans are on these 300000 cases will be cleared in a short time and will be suddenly dumped on deprtmenet of state to get visa numbers. the thing is that most of those cases are with EB2 and EB3 categories that each of them is alloted 40000 visas a yr so basically in total around 80000 per year, which means that most of the applicants will get sutck this time in departmenet of state to get a visa numbers, especially indians and chinese and mexicans which represent the largest part of applicants.

in summary perm and backlog plans will just translate the problem from one place to anohter. we need action to increase the visa numbers cap otherwise we will remain in the viscious circle.

From earlier statements from DOL (time to time), the backlog reduction was always mentioned with RIR. The number of applications in RIR must be much less. Also from the statistics published regarding the turnover at earlier backlog reduction center(I dont remember what it is exactly called) they only processed a few thousand applications in a year (less than 10),

And coming to perm, first let it come.

Regarding the points u raised, i dont know much.

we have to wait

hi,

the backlog center that u mentioned was in maryland and it was just to try the ways to reduce the backlog ,it just handled 3000 cases not more. so this center was running for 6 months just for trial so we can't rely on it. the backlog that i'm talkiin about it is coming soon and will be significant as from what i read.

concerning perm, u may be right, perhaps perm ,if implemented will not be friendly as we think, so most of the people in the backlog will not shift to perm. we don't know yet.

we don't know exactly what is the percentage of the rir in the total 300000 cases backlogged. so hope it is not that big and that they be will be handled first when the backlog centers will run.

regards,
