Please shed some light on these issues....

Issue 1...

EAD expires 07/11/01. Lawyer applied for a renewal ND 05/25/01. Because of the VSC mail room situation and the speed at which VSC is processing, I do not anticipate getting the renewal in time.

Attorney says the renewal will be backdated and I will be covered under 245(I) if VSC does not back date it. But the Lawyer is not saying I will be eligible to work (continue to work) until after I get the AD approved.

Issue 2...

Attorney\'s assistant says after talking to IIO, I have been issued RFE (ND 04/00). I have not received the RFE letter (again could be mail room back log). Getting restless as I see JUL 00 cases getting approved. Realistically do not know how many more months to go before I see the approval.

I would really appreciate your inputs on these.

Try calling your local INS ofice and see if they do EAD renewal within 90days. Almost 50% oblige according to my lawyer.
I am puzzled by your lawyer\'s response about your being eligible for 245(i). I doubt if it applies to you. However, since you have applied for EAD renewal it OK to continue working unless your employer has any objections (which he can legally object). I don\'t think your approval is far away and if everything is OK, I think your approval in the worst case should be less than two months.

Thanks a lot. I do not think my employer has objection to me working. If I stop working everything will be in a soup, as you might know how hard it is to get a project these days.
