RFE is for Employment letter. My company changed name after i filed for I-485. So my case is on hold because INS is waiting for company name change directions form Washington DC.
What are my options here. My lawyer says I-140 is taking 9 months. He does not know the difference between I-140 redo and regular I-140, i guess. He suggests me to wait for couple of weeks. He say he is trying to contact (for last two weeks) INS Vermont to tell them the taxid id not change and only name changed?

Should i apply for I-140 redo? Or any suggestions?

In most cases, your lawyer is right. You may not even need a I-140 redo as your company tax-id remains the same. And obviously, your
lawyer knows more than you do. Wait for that couple of weeks your
lawyer suggests and hang in there. You should be fine.

In my case, same thing happened. Finally, my lawyer was right and
I got my GC stamped 10 days ago.

You know, my lawyer is very bad at explaining things but OK with
executing stuff. When I asked him about I140 redo, he said that
it was not necessay. I am not sure how he knew, etc.

It worked. It will work for you. Stay tight and hang in there.

I agree with Snadar. Usually in the RFE itself you could have explained the reason for company name change and the fact that TAXID didn\'t change. This most certainly helps and has been evidenced thru some cases who have posted approvals on theboard. Have your lawyer send them a letter explaining the same now and see if INS could move on this.
