Beware: Male IIO playing pranks at VSC

We had a bad experience with a male IIO in the last few days....

Here is the situation....

I filed my 485 and moved to another apartment in the same area.
My company sent a letter to INS about my address change. They
assured me that that letter will take care of my wife's application
too..... but after reading some posting about an RFE which was
raised on a spouse's/dependent's application where the address
on the primary applicant's application was different, I asked my
wife to call up and check her address..... she called up and spoke
to an male IIO who was not cooperative at all... finally he scared
hell out saying that even my address was not upto date (which
I confirmed few months back)....... I called up again and spoke
to a nice lady IIO who said that my address is upto date and
changed my wife's address (YES... I could not believe my ears)....
saying that her address is not upto date......

Moral of the story..... it is better to confirm twice/thrice if any one
is changing their address over the phone......... I am gonna call
again (ask my wife to do the same) and confirm the address again

So PEOPLE..... beware.... some jack-asss male IIO is out there who is
playing pranks with us....

same situation

Just called a male IIO. His name is Jeff.
He said my case is delayed and it is transfered to another
department. When I asked if anything is wrong with my
case he refused to give any more details.
IIO's give conflicting answers. I got this answer in June.
Then when I called July 1 I was told case is with officer.
Now I'm given the old answer. So the INS horror continues.
Maybe that's the same male IIO. He says his name when
he picks up.

May be this will resolve.

May be they should add couple options on system.

If you want to speak make IIO, please press 6 :D
if you want to speak to female IIO, please press 8 :p

These IIO's have a set of different answers. They are pre-programmed to answer one or two of the different answer.
Besides, they are not the one processing, all they do is punch in your EAC number and check in the computer....tell you the status and thats it...;)

why...

No no... you are going away from issue. Issue is male IIO vs female IIO.

Why they can't make these services online. Do they think we can't punch our EAC number? If they make it online status check we can avoid male or even female. :D

Re: why...

They only have money to hire $10/hour guys, not thoese tech gurus.

Everyone

Whenever there is a change in address, everyone is telling that AR11 form should be submitted to INS regd the new address and also call IIO and update. But with my experience, I just want to tell those who do not know about the actual thing going on here.

Some may update the attorney about their new address. Now attorney or "company" tells him that he updated INS by mailing the AR11 form after a week or so when confirmed by employee. What is happenning here is that the form is getting mailed to a Department in Dept of Justice in Washington DC, instead of our Service centers. Hence they will update there which is not centralised. So our service centers will not get updated. That dept's job is to keep the current address of a person and use it for statistical purpose or wheneever there is any request from govt eg.INS or...or to inform the State where the person is living etc. This AR11 form is just for the sake of Homeland security.

This I came to know when my friend showed me his email from his attorney with the attachment of AR11 form. If this update to that dept is not done within 10 days of moving to a new address, then it may be a problem for non-citizens, when verified by police when one is caught for a small traffice offense. That's what is mentioned in the mail.

Based on the email, if INS requests the address of a person with this dept during the process of I-485, they will release the current address. Thus it works. Unless there is a request this dept do nothing.

When I contacted my attoreny, he asked me not to call INS and update as he already did it by sending the form. But want to check INS after a long time and called IIO 2 weeks back and was told that I may hear something in a week by a male IIO who may be aged around 50s I guess. As the address is still old, I changed it for both of us. But last week I read the email got to know about this whole process.

Better to wait till the case is approved. Then change the address which may not cause any kind of delay. I did a mistake. Even though IIO told me that I should hear something in a week, it is already 2 weeks, I am getting the same old message in AVM.

Anyone felt the male IIO is around 50s, acting very slowly etc..
