Became citizen in 2007, Do not have Indian Visa or Returned Indian Passport yet. Please Help.

HI,

I became US citizen in 2007, have not returned Indian passport yet nor obtained Indian Visa (I think also called renunciation, not sure). Are there any penalties? I Need to go to India this year and would like to obtain Indian visa or dual citizenship. Please help and guide. Thanks in advance.
 
Hi,

I am in sort of similar position. I applied for OCI and Renunciation on Dec 2013 together here at NY office. I got my OCI yesterday but as of today there is not status on renunciation. Also the emails are not answered properly as they only copy paste standard text rather and providine humanly answers. Any suggestions on what to do?
