485 receipts

Hi POJ,
My checks are cleared today.I145 docs sent on 09/21/05.reached VSC on 09/22/05.I am bit confused now.Because, I got my I-140 approval from TSC.But the I-485 filed in VSC .Is it normal..? I live NJ though..

Any suggestions.

I think both 140 and 485 need to be filed at the same center. Your lawyer may have made a mistake. I would look into it carefully if I were you.

By retrogressing the PDs and increasing the processing fees for most applications, the USCIS has guaranteed a good flow of income for years to come. Everyone at USCIS is going to get a big fat bonus during the holiday season .. :)

It is a matter of time before lawmakers in the US figure out that they are sitting on a "immigration process cash cow". If they get wind of how much revenue can be generated from USCIS related fees they will try to get USCIS to pay for Katrina, Rita etc. Its a brilliant idea .. I am surprised no one has thought of it yet.

Hi saras76 and others,
I just talked to my attorney office and employer.They say I should be fine.Here is the little more info.I applied I1-40 (NON concurrent) first on Aug15th got approval on 30th August from TSC.My Consulting Company is located in Atlanta. attorney says , SIne my I-140 is approved , I have option to file I-1485 either in Vermont SC (Since Ii live in NJ) or in Texas SC (where Office is located).. MY checks and My wife checks (8checks) cleared today.RD is 22 Sep 2005. All the check have recipts numbers on the back..
Since I stay in NJ, I did not have an option to see where they sent finally.The Attorney is from Atlanta.
Did any one has this experience..?
Any comments on this.. :confused:

Whatever your lawyer is saying is correct. If I140 is approved then I485 can be filed to the Vermont center based on your residence address. If I140 is not approved then I485 has to necessarly be filed at the center at which I140 is pending. Anyway it is good for you because you have escaped the Texas center which is know for its notoriety :rolleyes:
