* The BCIS has just released the statistics of immigration benefits applications. Total immigration application pending cases reached 5,250,958, a 34 % increase when compared to June 2002. Considering the fact that for the first nine months of fiscal year 2003 receipts increased less than 1 percent, while approvals decreased 20 percent compared to the same period for fiscal year 2002, mounting backlogs have been caused by backlog of adjudications. For the same period, denial of cases has increased 11%. The statistics thus supports this web site's assessment that the sources of backlog lies more with the problem of backlog in the backend (adjudication) rather than frontend (receipt handling).

way to go

BCIS
Soon the waiting time for 485 will be reduced from 22 months to 3 years

Isn't this how BCIS reduces backlog...instead of saying in blah blah days, converts it into Month, or if month appears longer converts into Year?

For example: Now Adjudication takes 999 days, it will start saying it takes 60 months

YOu should re-fresh your arithmatics .. guys...

They are approving same number of cases per day as before
Total number of applications are increased. They can't help in that.

Many of us have come here like Flys and Bugs :D:D

1amShantanuB ,

Increase of receipts = about 0.7 %
approvals decreased = 20 %

Now what is the main cause of delay "Increase of receipts "

or "decreased Approval" ????????

Some good news though ....

The good news is that the number of pending I-485 cases has not increased significantly from May. The current number of pending 485 cases is 1,182,467 which is very close to the May 03 figure. I forgot the exact number but it was 1, 18x, xxx (did anyone have that nunmber?). Let's wait and see the July 03 figure. Hope it is reduced or at least not growing any more.
