BCIS increased fees for immigration applications on 30-Jan-2004.

$55 to $65 increase, across the board. Hopefully it will help them clear the huge backlog...

BCIS still has the old fees. I guess this is just a proposal.

It is just a proposal at this stage. Even if the fees are increased, it will take effect on or after October 1, 2005.

As per the USCIS website, the proposal to increase fee is open for public comments for a period of 30 days, after which it willl go into effect "shortly".

I would suggest to increase the fee 100% or more for I140 and I485, with a guarantee to complete within 3 months from ND.
