BCIS folks do read the letters one writes

I submitted my I-129 (H-1B renewal 8th year :-( premium processing) to VSC along with I-539 (H-4) extension. The HR folks wrote a letter to the BCIS requesting that the I-539 be approved/processed along with my I-129.

BCIS didn't have to process my spouses (I-539) application. They processed both of our apps and approved it. I sincerely hope that the processing time will improve once BCIS picks up the pace.

I-129 and I-539 RD: 02/28/2003
ND: 03/03/2003 (notified via e-mail)
I-129 and I-539 AD: 03/06/2003 (notified via e-mail)
Approval Notices received: 03/11/2003

Premium processing

is probably the only ones that they read.

Someone posted a link saying that PP is causing most of the delays.

Its all about the money!
:D

but what i can't understand

is if it takes 6 months to process H-1B, how does the extra $ 1000 help them finish the work in 6 days? I mean think about it, it's ridiculous(oh i'm sorry, i know that's what INS/BCIS means)!!!

patienceGC,

Yes, It could be the reason. But they really didn't have to approve my spouses I-539. They could have processed it by ND or RD. Yes I did read the report about how Premium Processing is causing delay. I needed the approval, and there was a provision, and I took advantage of it :)

awaiting approval,

I wish I could answer your question as to how INS/BCIS/DHS/??? are able to adjudicate/approve an application in 6 days. I gues it's the extra $1,000.
