I hope this would be helpful for some of you out there. Please suggest if there is any other thing I can do for my EAD.
My current (2nd) EAD is expiring on Jan 28, 2004. Applied for the 3rd EAD with receipt date of Sep 30, 2003. 90 days have passed now.
I went to the Baltimore office today (Jan 2) for interim EAD. They said that there is no such thing as interim EAD, they called it "duplicate" EAD. Checked the 3rd EAD receipt notice date and did not asked for any other documents. No payment, photos, nothing was requested. Refiled I765 and said that they will inform me in 2 to 4 weeks. That would be too close to my 2nd EAD expiration date. Company lawyer has advised the company to terminate my employment if EAD is not approved. Told the Baltimore officer that my employment will get terminated if I don't have the EAD, she said that is your employer and your issue.
Contacted congressman, they very helpful and told me that my EAD case is about to be adjucated to an officer. However, I asked them if they can help in getting it approved by Jan 28. They said that they can only expedite assignment to the officer and thats it.
I have booked a flight to Boston to attempt interim EAD, as suggested on this forum.
Bottom line is if you are in Maryland, apply for EAD atleast 6 months in advance, apparently, 4 months is not enough.

2nd FP: Oct 20, 2003. Online message not updated still saying RFE received. Tried early Fingerprinting at Baltimore office, refused and asked to come on appt date. Too much work load argument, even though I was the only one if the office.
Congressman office checked on my 485 to state that BCIS is waiting on "name check" before further processing can resume. It can take an indefinite amount of time.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
