IBIS socks many...
Already I have personally heard from 2 people (boston, newark) who were told the stamping date is going to different from the local interview date. And the washington post mentions NY and Hartford INS offices. Even the lawyers who went along with them were surprised.
Would like to know whether this delay is prevalent in all the INS offices OR is there an INS office which has access and equipment to verify IBIS (Interagency Border Inspection System) and give the 551 stamp after May 15??

Jaxen. Do you know if this happen going to apply at Boston INS?
My friend\'s GC has been approved a few days ago. She is planning to take a short trip to Europe next month (she is assuming that she will go for PP stamping in the beginning of June). Do you know if this IBIS will apply to Boston INS? Thanks in advance for you comments.

add Detroit INS to your list.
Starting 5/17/02 they are not stamping passports with AOS approval until security check is competed. They are promising to mail green cards after the security check is completed.
