Immigration law posted key points from the USCIS-AILA meeting and among others it includes:
I was hoping that for following reasons, reinstating PP would be happening soon.
- VSC processing I-140 takes away the burden from NSC and TSC
- Two new contracting firms have been hired to help out with the processing at the four service centers.
- and the biggest one... as estimated there are close to 130k I-140 pending. Even if 50% of them file for PP, thats an additional revenue of 65000*1000 = a whopping $65 M
and if its any significantly less than 50%, then it defies the largely assumed reason of such suspension - a big number of PP applications to process!
If they fear that there would be a sudden barge of such requests that would deny them to adjudicate within 15 days, then they should reinstate PP in a staged manner, maybe based on PD or I-140 RD. Atleast people would know what's up with PP.
Its just sad that this program to be specific is being suspended without any timeline on reinstatement.
No schedule for reinstatement of I-140 PPS in the near future
