Bad Experience At Sfo, I Need Your Help

LOlali:

What if the NP can not be found during CZ interview ? The NP was never used in the last 5 yrs.

I think if you are honest with the Officer at the time of the interview you will be fine. Just explain to them the NP is lost. I have however, read of situations such as this where the Officer asked whether or not the applicant filed a police report for the lost passport. This proves the loss is genuine I guess...

Did you loose your NP?

I'm an AS6 GC holder and will be going back to COP in August for two wks for my brother's wedding.
Plan is to travel with GC and NP that I renewed back in 2006 after I've received my GC.
Will keep you guys posted on how that goes.

Hi guys
Please does anyone from this forum can give clear explaination about LPR. I read somewhere LPR is free to travel and back to USA.So I really confuse it's like there is a law for each category.Otherwise why using a NP is a big deal. you still have the COP citizenship.

I don't want to argue with you since your intentions on this board are good and you tend to help others out.

However, I have to step in her and tell you that you are misinforming others regarding the use of NP when you have derived the GC via asylum. You have misinterpreted my point. At the citizenship interview you would NOT tell the IO that you are an asylee - you would however need to remind the IO that you derived your PR status via asylum. And according to the law books this makes a HUGE difference.

I know what I am talking about - I just went through my citizenship interview. And believe me when I tell you that not having + not using a NP is going to come up and this is when you HAVE to mention your prior asylee status. In addition, using your NP and going back to your COP will come up if the IO sees you are an asylee - so you will need an explanation then as well. I was asked specific questions regarding my asylum status - so although I am a GC holder - I will always be an asylee according to the law as to how I derived the permanent resident status.

dear lolai:

during the citizenship interview, how the officer will the know you went back
to your country?

is he going to check your passport stamps? is he going to confront you?

lets say you went before getting green card?

i was told that iam reponsible about my trips since resident date, is that true?

For LolaLi

Would you kindly give us the details of your citizenship interview and what the officer asked to see at the interview? If you have already posted this elsewhere, can you direct me to the post? Thank you.
