Background check for EAD card

Hi,
Does anybody know for sure if they do a background check before issuance of EAD card? If yes is this the same as the chack for GC issuance? As I mentione in another thread, we had our interview 24 days after FP, so my namecheck was not cleared, but I recieved my EAD card a week after interview. I was wondering if it means that me name check has been cleared.

Sorry, I do not know for sure............ I dont think that is the same. I know people who got their EAD over two years ago but not their green cards (they had interview 1.5 years ago) because their name check is not complete...........
 
I know for sure that both EAD and Green Card require some type of Background Check and it is not the same one.
 
it's not the same check. you'll receive it soon. if not, you should call them and ask about it.

Do you know how long (after FP or interview)I should consider it late and try to contact them? Also do we contact the 1-800 numbers for USCIS or the local office that we had interview?

I looked at some forums from last year (by sushi, vermedeve and others). They were stuck without the name check results untill the last days of the lottery, september 29-30.
I talked to my interview officer and he said he can not predict how long does it take, neither he could tell me who to contact.

So lets jus hope we will have our namecheck done by next month. If it is not done, I am considering contacting the senator (also from previous years, it helped people)

Why don't you contact with senator end of this month. Usually, senator office takes 30 days to respond.

dude, u posted the same question everywhere. I am telling u, they don't do backround check for EAD. EAD can be approved with FP or without it.

I don't know when would be considered to be late. Just judge yourself. The central office cannot help you. You have to shedule an infopass appt with your local office. where is your local office?

You have mentioned that your husband and child recieved the stamp but you didn't. Are you the principal applicant (the DV winner)? If you are ,how come could they get it without you getting it? My interviewer said that the background check for my wife and child was ready, but since they are dependents of me he couldn't give them the stamp before I get it.
I appreciate it if you reply me.

Did you do the biometrics twice(one after interview!)?

no, my husband is the principal applicant, that's why his approval did not depend on mine.

now I wander what happens, if my name check is not ready by September 30th. My husband will be a green card holder. Can I apply for I485 again?
 
last year the AOS applicants had the same Name Check problem. If I remember right at the end of fiscal year 99% of them or some close, got their GC. They have to finish these cases by the end of fiscal year . In your cases when you passed the interview I am sure that you are all set. Patience.
