back ground check

Hi all,
my I-485 was filed in march of 05'. evreything has come through except for the back ground check and the name check. I read about contacting the local congress man/ woman about that to get help. If any of the readers know anything about that, could you please educate me on how to do so.......

Go to www.house.gov, find your representative, and get in contact with him/her. They most likely would send an inquiry about your case to the immigration liaison office, then let you know about the results. The problem is that they CAN'T DO anything to expedite your name check.
We have getting updates from the congressmen's office about my husband's pending name check for the last 2 years...
