Hi All,

Me and my wife are permanant residents of US. We decided to have the baby born outside of US. What is the procedure to bring the baby to US?

Is anybody experienced similar situation? Please share your experince.

Thanks

sibukh,
You can search for the details on this forum.

the jist of the matter is this :

As long as the baby comes back to US along with PARENTS 1st trip back to US, the baby will get the GC stamp at the airport.. The parents 1st trip can be within 2 yrs of birth of the baby.

The key word is the 1st trip of Parents, so dont screw up on that...

Thank you for your advise.
Is that mean the baby does not need any visa? What documents the immigration officer will ask to verify that the baby is ours.

Thanks

Two weeks back I entered into US with my new baby. I was having only the birth certificate and separate passport for baby. At the Chicago airport the officer stamped in my baby's passport as "Processed F1-551 temporary evidence of lawful admission for permanent residence valid until .....date".

Any body knows the process of the green card for the baby.

Appreciate the help.

Please help

sk110502,
I am in the same situation as you are. I have a question for you. How did you board the airlines without a visa for the baby? Did you get some kind of document from the US consulate? Did the airlines allowed you to board without any visa? which airlines did you use?
Thanks
Any help will be appreciated.
