Baby after GC

My friend and his spouse received green cards recently. Due to some personal reasons, they want the kid to be born in India. If in such a situation, would they have to get a visa for the kid to take the kid back to US after the delivery in India? What are the options.

Assumption: They do not have an option of a delivery in US.

Please respond with your thoughts.

They will have to file for their son's Green Card and only after it is approved will their be able to come to this country.

Saw a post in "After GC " section, in the main page at this portal, which has answers to your query. I remember having read that the first time they come back with the baby, they neednot get any special visa for the baby, but need to get all birthdocuments, proof of parentage to be shown at POEntry etc..plss see the thread/posts../consult attorney..best wishes..

Not true. The child does not need to wait for GC in India. He/she can come with parent.

a snap of new born with mother in hospital helps in great way.. check this possibility

The child can enter with parents provided:

1. Atleast one of the parents is GC holder.
2. This is not the first time the parent entering to USA (either using GC or non-immigrant visa in past).
3. Child is entering to USA for first time.
4. Child has birth certificate with both parents name on it.

Child will go through differred inspection ar POE and get GC.
 
If I am Visa Holder..and status pending

Hello guys,
Me and Wife GC status is status change pending(I-485). We would like to deliver baby in India. How does it work when i bring the baby back to US?. Do i need to have Indian passport for the baby?. My wife will be there in India with Advance Parole. What other documents I need to bring the baby here?. Anybody faced situtation like me.

Please advise me.. I am new to this forum.
