B2 Visa Extension

Hello,

We want to Extend visa for my mother-in law, but realized after reading the blogs about possible rejection which leads to 10 visa cancel.
But somebody posted that going out of country on a vacation and coming back will get new I94. Is that true?

Can we go to Canada and come back in couple of days will get a new I-94?

Please suggest any place or other options.

With this avenue you risk your mother-in-law being denied entry at the US-Canadian border. What really matters is the need to extend the original stay. What life/death emergency are we looking at in this case?
