B2 to H1b stamping

Gurus,

I came to US on a B2 visa, and obtained a H1b visa around 3 months back.

I plan to visit India soon and want to get multiple entry stamped on my passport before going there. Can I go to, say, Mexico and get it done there?

Anyone out here who had a similar case and got stamping done at Mexico?

If you don’t get H1 visa stamp in Mexico you will not be able to return to US from Mexico, you have to go straight from Mexico to India then get H1 visa stamp from India and then return to US. I will go to India and will not take chance with Mexico as it is from B2 to H1 change of status.
