Hi,
Sorry for B2 visa question.
I want to invite my parents come to US. They are going to apply B2 Visa at Beijing, China. They visted us in America between 2002/1-2003/1 (12 months with valid extension). Right now, I am drafting an invitation letter. The main point is to invite them to be us for a few months. I have several questions for the invitation letter concerning the possibility of visa application approval:

1. I bought a new house and will move into it next month. If I mention it in the letter (say I have a new house, I want my parent to see), is it good or bad?
2. My son is in China with them, in the letter, can I say I want them to bring my son back to US or don't mention my son?
3. We will have another new baby very soon, If I mention it (say I will have a new baby, I want them to see), is it good or bad?

Any B2 Visa application expeirence will be welcome.
If anybody know another proper website to post such question, please let me know.
Thanks.

Unbelievable, across post everywhere! This must be the most important question.

Vistor Visa

Jhon,

You must mention about the house as Ur property section in I-134.
But I guess you should not mention that in the letter of invitation.

Make is simple and make it sound as if it is only for Tourism.

Don't mention that U are having a baby soon as, it might imply - they are being invited to take care of the new born.

Hope that helps

Here is my experience says

I was kind of similar situation as you. Recently I brought my parents to US through B2 visa. As you are asking for B2 (visitor/Tourist visa), never ever mentioned anything else, just say they wants to visit some more places this time because they did not get much time to see more places last time. I am sure you should be OK. Instruct your parents the same thing, so that they should know what they have to say at the port of entry (POE). I would like you to go through the B2 visa forums and also go through the immihelp.com site. You will get all your answers. This two sites helped me a lot to get the visa for my parents.

Good Luck.

Thank you for your reply gc_illusion.
I really want my parents to bring my son to US with them. In the invitation, I don't mention my son, that is fine. However, when my parents enter the POE, the INS officer will see my son with them, what do they have to say? Any idea or this is not an issue by your experience.
thanks again.

Here what I typed on my letter to US embassy:
I said I will pay all of their expenses and my responsible during their present in US.
attached reference from my company stating where I work and how much I make.
copy of paystuff. Copy of your birth certificate showing that you are their son.

No questions asked when my parent applied B2, they stamped the visa for 5 years. Multiple entry. (My parents are 60+ years). Speak no english.

No personal reason...Just Tourism..

Couple of things:
- Never ever say that you are having baby soon. My friend parents visa got rejected when they mention this in the interview.

- NO personal reason

I agree with Billtoo, keep it simple and staright forward. Here is the consulate letter I had used when I invited my parents.

Good luck....
