Hi all,

thank you for everyone for sharing their experiences. In the past, this forum has helped me a lot. I have one more question to ask about B2 visa for my parents. I got my GC thru my ex-husband and we divorced last Oct 2010. Now, I am getting married again and I would like my parents to attend my wedding. but i am afraid that the vo might deny the visa because they will think why i just divorced last year and now getting married. Its too soon? . or I can invite my parents to visit me as the purpose. and not mention about attending my wedding. The reason I ask is that I think attending wedding might be a strong execuse since i have pictures can show to the VO that me and my bf went back to visit my parents in early Jan this year but it might get deny due to I remarry too soon. any idea?

1. B-2 visas are applied for by your parents.

2. Your parents have to demonstrate that they have a foreign residence that they have no intention of abandoning.

3. Your parents have to show financial ability to pay for their trip. [You can offer to let them stay with you to reduce their expenses if that helps them.]

4. Your parents need to show strong ties to home that will prove that they will leave when the purpose of their trip is complete. "Visit family."

5. You have very little to do with their B-2 visa application.

As for YOU, did you get a greencard through marriage then get a quick divorce? Are you marrying another USC or someone for whom you will file an I-130?
