B2 extension denied, necessary to mail USCIS original documents?

Hi friends,

I applied an extension of stay for my parents with B2 visitor visa. The
extension was denied and they will leave the country tomorrow. Besides
leaving immediately, is there anything else they need to do?

From immihelp website, I see the following paragraph:

If your extension is denied, following docs need to be sent to USCIS
after you exit the country after an extension denial:
Original denial letter
Original boarding pass
copy of biographical page of passport
copy of entry stamp in new country
Letter saying that applicant overstayed because he/she was awaiting
decision on extension application.

Applicant should carry copies of all above documents on his/her next visit to US.

This seems to be the only resource saying that I need to mail USCIS
these documents after they go back to China. Is this necessary? I feel
better for them to keep these original documents on their next visit to
US.

Thanks a lot!

My parents are in a similar situation and will be leaving soon.
I too found the information you have mentioned in immihelp which prompted me to call and check with USCIS, especially because it also said that the multiple entry Visa is cancelled immediately and they need to take another Visa to come back to the US.

I called USCIS who directed me toe Deparment of state( Visa issuing authority). When I called them I was told my parents need to take care of the following documents -
Extension application
Rejection notice
Boarding pass and ticket info.

These need to be shown at the port of entry next time they come in. There is no other need.

The Tel # is 12026631225.

B2 visitor visa extension for mother in law

My mother in law has a 10 year visitor visa entry permit. Her first visit was in 1999, for 6 months. Later on she re-visited the United States in 2002 again for 6 months during which we applied for another 6 month extension. She was given the extension without any problems. She is visiting us again this year and has arrived in the month of May on a 6 month visa and we plan on applying for extension. My questions are:

When should one apply for extenion?

What are the reasons we ought to give while applying for the extension?

Is there a chance of being denied extension if we have already been given
extension once?

can someone send us a sample letter citing reasons for extension?

Thank you
BD

Generally 4 weeks before the date on I-94. However as long as the application is received by INS 1 day prior to the date on I-94 you should be OK

What are the reasons we ought to give while applying for the extension?
Go to http://www.immihelp.com/visas/extend.html

Should have no bearing but who knows for sure
