Hello all,

My parents were planning to go back to India on Nov 8th; their I94 has an expiry date of Nov 11. Unfortunately, my father had a bit of chest pain and was admitted in a hospital for 2 days. The doctors have advised him not to fly for another 2 weeks - also have a letter from them, which should be a strong reason for filing the extension.

My questions are:

1. Should I apply for an extension given that we have already rebooked their flight for Nov 23rd, they will essentially 'overstay' for 12 days. They have a little over 2 years in the 10-year multiple entry B2 visa

2. If yes to ques 1, Is it ok as long they receive the application before the expiry date, i.e. Nov 11th?

3. And finally, I have seen the fee as $300 vs $380 in several threads. It is 300 or 380?

I hope one of you with previous experience will be able to answer these questions for me. Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

A1: Yes. A medical reason can be used to justify an extension.
A2: Correct
A3: I believe it is $300 for both parents.
