I have leaved more than five years in America & I graduated last year. I never changed my B2 for a F1 because I could have not paid for the tuition. Now, I want a company to sponsor me the H1b but I do not know what must be done. Do I have to go outside the country to get the H1b once I have the company wanting me to sponsor? How exactly works?

 And how did you study in a University without paying the tuition fee and holding just a B-2 visa???? I need that !!! I hold a B-2 and a B-1 visa and I wanted to stay in California to go to school but they charge us like 15,000 dollars a year for being foreigners. They don't give scholarships to undergraduate students, and I have to go back to Chile to study a BE with a major in ESL .I did this because I love English and teaching and I know in some places of the US they are desperated for teachers.I will have to get a H1B myself to move there but thank God I have someone who has contacts in the education field.
I heard Pepsi sponsor foreigners. Go to www.latpro.com .That's a place for professionals who are bilinguals and there are a lot of big companies that would sponsor you.I wish you the best and please give me a tip of how did you do to study there as you did!!!! I almost lost my relationship for not being able to study and stay there and my partner and I will have to be separated for 4 more years.SUCKS!
Did you have to pay??? What's your field? No,you don't have to go to your coutry,if you overstayed for 5 years you won't be able to get a new visa even if you get a new passport to get a new visa stamped there. You'll be denied the entry for 10 years!! They rule is if you overstayed for at least one year you won't be allowed to go back to the US for 1 year but if you overstayed for 3 years as a illegal, you'll be punished with 10 years outisde the US even more you can be deported.Try to get a H1B .As Iam in a similar situation but studying and living abroad(I did not want problems with the INS everything it's a game you know) I offer you this link. http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cach...es+to+get+a++EB-3+Visa&hl=es&client=firefox-a
I hope you get some help. If you hold a bachelor you can access to the EB-3 immigrate visa but you'll have to wait like 2 years and the non-immigrant visa H1B if you get the person to sponsor you could be processed in like 1 month or so.

hey Carolina!

Well, so far I have called some school districts because they needed teachers. They have told me that I have either to go back & get the h1b or to go to Mexico & come back as a visitor. The problem is that they might check that I stayed illegally but they might not. My dad went last yr to Mexico & did not have a problems when he came back.

I would like to know if there is a way in which I don't have to go outside the country. A lawyer told me that in a couple of month might be legalized some law that says that I don't have to go outside (don't know if it is true).

On the other hand, there is a law (2001) that if you went to high school for 3 yrs you can go the university & apply to scholarships. In my case (2000), I went 1 yr to high school & there was a law in Texas at the time that you could go to a community college if you had at least one yr going to high school. After I finished the 2 yrs of community college, I went to a four yr university & somebody helped me out. Now, I know that is harder for people like me (2000) to get in that university.

My major is Computer Systems Engineer. Well, thank you very much for replying Caro, bye!
