B2 anxiety

You guys!!! Don't use so much German... I am having to use bablefish too much :p. Cheer up Pat... its gonna be okay :)

lol :D, sorry a_usc... but you were doing a really good job yourself in that PM!!
Ok, my German will now be reduced to Danke (Thanks) and Viel Glück (Good luck!).

Thanks for your encouragement and suggestions a_usc. You are right, I should try and find my confidence again. My husband sure seems not to have lost any of his confidence over this, so I'm gonna try and be positive again myself. :)

Patty -

I read about ur case just now, sorry I can't help much giving you specific advice on your case, as my GC route was different (not family based). You seem to be such a nice person, I just couldn't help tell you a few things (and I'm no Dr.Phil)..

You must stop worrying at once! P..L..E..A..S..E :)
As a_usc nicely put it on the other thread, everything that has happened, has happened already. So be brave and decide firmly before you go to your interview (which is nearly a month away) what story you want to stick with.

I was looking for a thread which some one posted a long time ago, about coming here on a tourist visa from Phillipines and getting married in the US to her long time love (USC) and finally getting her GC. I just couldn't find it. I wish I could show it to you, so your concerns will ease a bit.
There are tons of people who had entered on a tourist visa, accidentally(?!) found some one here, got married and got their GC. At least, your case is legitimate. If you don't panic [and stop using the word "devastated" :p ] and be strong, it is unlikely that you would get denied.

I want to say a lot of things that will boost your confidence and not make you feel stressed about this situation. But I have a feeling, ultimately it is in your hands. I was in a super mess when I got my CZ, just about the way you feel now or even worse. There were people who supported me and others who said I was going to be deported. But inside, I was strong and was willing to take a risk and everything worked out good. I hope it is the case with you too.

Be positive and think you are going to be fine at the interview. Most likely, you will be!!
Now cheer up! :)
GOOD LUCK!

Thank you so much Jen. You would make a great Dr. Phil. :)
I'm sorry about being such a drama queen, but I was really freaking out.
I am much better now, reading such nice and encouraging posts like yours. We are gonna stick to our true story, even though I was living with my husband before I came to the US with him. But we are gonna be prepared and won't give away too much information, when it is possible.

It's gonna be fine. And no more using the word "devastated", I promise. lol :D

Hey Pat,

Here's the FOIPA request form and the instructions that I got from him. I couldn't attach this in the PM as I don't think there's a way to do it. If you have any other questions you can just PM me or post in this thread.

Viel Glück :D

Dont Worry

Don’t worry. During your interview ,you can make it simple and say that you wanted a feel for the relationship ( Justify your B2 – 6 months vs 90 days ), and then decided on a wedding as the time was right. It is convincing and practical. With this approach during the interview , you do not have to hide the fact that you lived under one roof in Germany .
You clearly did not get into this relationship to beat the immigration laws, and that is something you both will have to stand by.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks ps182. I'm not sure though if your story would actually say that I had an immigrant intent, because it would mean that we thought about getting married before I entered, which is not true.
I appreciate your help though, it's good to see how many people here care. :)

Hey good luck to both of you on your interviews!!

And Patty nop, he does not ask anything about my old job or something referring to it, just about when and how we met, when he proposed and when was the last time I enter and when (which anyway are quite the same thing in the forms). Did not ask for anything else, just some dates about the whereabouts of my husband in a time period when he was in Dessert Storm and my husband couldn't remember at first and then when he was in my country with orders the first time, that was it. But we do not offer anything...I mean that was the first rule that my husband even told me, do not volunteer anything, just keep it simple and truthful (you know he has military/police interview experience).

Good luck!

Thanks Cherr. I will still bring my contract, just in case. :)
Yeah, we won't volunteer anything. Will just answer his questions, true and simple.
It's still 4 weeks to the interview and I'm already so nervous. Wish I could work, so I needn't think about it all the time.

Oh well.
Thanks again!

Pat, like i mentioned in the other thread, you have nothing to worry about. Lotsa people do it this way. When it comes to immigration, intent is everything. Unless USCIS can prove that you had immigration intent when entering on a B visa, you should not have any problem. So take it easy, have a beer and maybe you can watch suzy dance for you... ;) dont try to be nervous and imagine things when suzy is around, you wont like what you see :D :D :D :D

Thanks Ari. :) I know I probably worry too much, but on the other hand I believe it's good to be fully aware of my situation.
Do you think they would consider having lived together in Germany as an immigrant intent? I'm asking because it's documented in our G-325As.
What could be considered proof of intent anyway?

lol, that's the clue though, you should imagine people naked if they are making you nervous, especially when it's obvious that it's gonna make you laugh! :D :D
Just kidding Suzy, I'm sure it would be hot. ;)

HI a_usc,
Its a silly question. but wat is a FOIPA?? I mean its used to get some kind of information from FBI. but wat does it tell us that regarding our namechecks???

Thanks

Ip, it gives you an idea if FBI has any information about you. If they do, then you will know that you might be stuck in name check, if not then thats something you can use if you are God forbid stuck in name check. FOIPA stands for FREEDOM OF INFORMATION-PRIVACY ACTS. It lets you obtain information about your own records. Hope this helps.

Goodluck

Thanks for your reply,

I had an interview today, although approved but namecheck pending :(. So do you think should I fill FOIA??. What if they don't have any info regarding me . How would it help me now in this case????

Thanks

Ip am not too sure about the I-485 process but i know if you have had your interview for naturalization and 120 days have passed and they have not sent you Oath or a denial letter you can file a lawsuit againts them asking them to make a final determination about your case. Read this thread very carefully http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=194681

Goodluck
