B1 - chances of getting I94 for 6months and wife accompanying

All: I have a couple of questions on entering the US on a B1 Visa.
1) I already have a multiple entry B1; how strong are the chances I will get a 6 month period on my I94 during my POE. What kind of letters of intent are needed to ensure this, for instance from my company?

2) If I get to stay 6 months, what are the chances my wife also will get a 6 month period on I94 ...since she will be entering on a B2 tourist visa?

Thanks,
Madhu

Your I-94 will reflect the IO's view of the time required for your stated business. Six months seems like a long time for the activities permitted under B-1 visa.

Your documentation should be 100% truthful and not manufactured to give you an unreasonably long stay.

The tone of your posting makes it appear that there is some improper intent so rethink how you intend to justify a longer than normal stay in the US. Your employer may need to sponsor you for a different guest worker visa.

A1: That is under the discretionary powers of the admitting officer. What exactly is your reason for this trip?
A2: See above.

Concerned4us: Appreciate the candid feedback! Irrespective of what my employer's intentions are, I would never want to take an improper step, rest assured. Can you please clarify which one is a guest worker visa?
