B1/B2 Visa extension process

My niece has a visa for next two months, however she wants to extend it by one more month (for a very legit reason). What is the process to get this done? BTW she is in US now.

Was her I-94 only valid for 2 months? If so, she has been given a restricted I-94. What exactly is this very legitimate reason?
