Hi Everyone

Entered Usa On B1/b2 . Valid For 5 Years , He Only Got The Entry Stamp With No Fix Date That He Have To Leave , Does That Mean He Can Stay Here As Much As He Can ,LEAVE And Enter The Usa Again ? Or He Have To Leave Every 6 Months And Come Back As We Heared ?

Thanks Alot In Advance
Your Help Appreciated

Your visa is valid for 5 years, but that does not mean you can stay in the USA for that long.

B2/B1 visa holders are allowed to stay in the US for a maximum of 6 months in a single entry.

You are to leave before 6 months have passed or your visa will be void.

The visa being valid for 5 years means that you can use it (apply for entry) during that period of time, but you can only stay in the USA a few months each year (of those 5 years) visiting.

A visitor visa is intended for tourism and business, for temporary visits, not living in the USA.

thnks alot all of you guys for clearing that ! but if he stay here let say 5 months and then back home for 2 months will he be able to enter again or he have to apply for entry ???

thanks

He will apply for entry again, but keep in mind that the visa is for "visitor".

The person holding the visa is supposed to spend more time in the Home Country than in the USA in a calendar year... If he spends 5 months in USA, 2 months home, then 5 more months in USA, he is spending a LOT more time in the USA. He is "living" in the USA and that is abuse of his visa.

If he attempts to do this, he will probably be denied entry at the Port of Entry and sent back home and his visa may be cancelled.

It would be best if he, spends 3 months in the USA, goes home for 3-4 months, comes back to the USA for another 3 months, and so on...

For as long as he continues showing strong ties to home country and has a valid purpose for visiting the USA, he will be fine.

The visa is only a "permission" to "apply" for entry, it does no guarantee you will be allowed to enter or even how long you will be allowed to stay.
