I am a current resident in the USA.
Travelled to my hometown to get married last month to my bf of 5 years
I wish to file I-130 for him but not anytime soon because of the nature of his job.
He worked as a pilot in Kuwait for so many years and has moved to our home country working as an aviation consultant ( self employed) so as you know it will take both of us sacrifices to move, whoever does and we are still working towards it. He had a US visa while in Kuwait a multiple entry but never used it. Now that he is in Ghana and we are married ( I came back to the states) I want him to come and visit and explore opportunities to make up his mind.
We have submitted form ds-160 and he has an interview coming up soon. Can anybody advice on challenges he will face and do you think they will have a problem issuing him the visa since he has a wife on the US..
By the way his visa was issued 1992 and expired in 1994.
I will appreciate any input please..

The CO will question why he's applying for a nonimmigrant visa when he has an LPR wife. They will think that he's trying to circumvent consular processing for immigrant visa, unless he can convince them that he has no plan to permanently move to USA this time. Maybe it will help if he points out that he's a pilot who travels all the time.

Thank you! He has his interview this Thursday coming so fingers crossed. I will post here the outcome. I have heard people say it shouldn't be a problem but you will never know.

what you have is done is risky. Simply hope that he gets his visa because from a immigration point of view, he is married and might be staying in usa. he needs to be prepare to show all evidence showing that he doesnt intent to move, even if all facts show the opposite (marriage).

good luck.
