B visa expiration issues

Hi:

My parents have their B-visa (tourist) valid until 15 of Sept 2009. If they came to visit me in June or early July of 2009, will it be a problem because it will be close to the expiration date? They will visit me for 6 weeks and will have return tickets.

Also, when they enter the US, immigration stamps that they can remain in the US for 6 months (i could be wrong about this as it could be 3 months). If they came in early July would immigration admit them for 6 months beyond the visa expiration date on Sep 15?

No problem. A visa can used on its last day of validity.

How long a stay is granted is independent of the visa expiry date. The admitting officer determines how long a stay to grant.
