B Visa and Investing in Real Estate

Here is the bottom line:

- My brother with over 150K is willing to invest in Real Estate in US. He is foreign national and I have GC. He would need to be in US about 8-9 months a year pretty much helping structuring investment...evaluating deals, looking for homes etc...making offers etc...
- We thought about E2 visa but that would require active participation in business which he frankly does not want. He does not want to stay more then few months per trip but the total could be 9 months per year.
- So seems this is somewhere between B1 and E2 type of situation...


Any advise?
 
150K is not much to fund such an idea. In some parts of the US, this would not purchase much more than a large doghouse much less investment property requireig him to stay in the US 9 monthws out of the year.

This looks like a scheme to live in the US.
 
150K? lol? :p

That would hardly buy you a decent house in a low-income state.

It does sound like a scheme to abuse a visitor visa.
