H1-b transfer, Urgent!

Hello,

I want to tranfer my H1-b to another company (B). My H1-b got approved couple of weeks ago. I have applied for SSN but not yet received.
Company B says that I can apply for transfer and also start working as soon as I receive receipt for H1-b transfer and SSN card.

Is it possible to start working with company B based on receipt for transfer or I have to wait until my H1-b gets transfered?

Also can I apply for transfer without having SSN?

If my H1-b transfer is getting rejected for some reason than can I continue working with Company A or I will be out of status?

If your H1 start date has been already passed, you can start working for B as soon as you got transfer receipt. You need some pay stubs to make the process smooth. If you do not have it, you need explanation.

Also can I apply for transfer without having SSN?

Petition does not ask SSN in the application.

There seems to be some memo which is not in public in this regard, and answer looks positive, but since it is not written law, you have to confirm with lawyer.
