My mother-in-law is applying for B-2 visa. I am the sponsorer for her visa. Her first name in passport is different from the house documents. What should I do? The difference is very subtle. eg., Saral instead of Sarala
Thanks

B-2 visa documents

Thank you both for your reply..I cannot change the passport..
maybe affidavit or other names options (in the DS_156 form) are better.

Also, do they have to take the original house/property documents or photocopies are good enough? This is regarding affidavit of personal property.
Please let me know.
Thank you in advance

This is a common problem and using other name option is fine. Often the documents contain the name along with wife of/ daughter of notations as a means of clarifying who they are talking about.

Thus using other names in Ds0156 will eliminate the need for affidavit.

For all documents you carry, do carry the originals with you (leave an attested copy at home) along with one copy in case you need to submit it.
