I am a doctor and I am in USA on a B-2 five year multiple entry visa. I came here to give interviews for medical residency. Now my question is that if I am offered a J-1 visa for medical training can I adjust my status from B-2 to J-1 while in USA. And is it advisable to do so? And how much time does it take as my I would get J-1 papers from hospital in late march and my I-94 expires in late april.Whats my status in USA if my application for adjustment of status is pending and my I-94 expires. And if my adjustment of status is rejected does my B-2 stay valid. And if my J-1 is approved from here then what happens to my B-2 visa?
