My Fiancée and I are at the interview stage of getting our K1 Visa.
K1 Visa interviews are not done in Baku Azerbaijan, we were instructed to select the closest country with a US embassy that does interviews which in our case is Tbilisi Georgia.
As I went to schedule the interview a couple questions came up.
The letter indicates that she and her son need to complete medical exams at a particular medical facility in Georgia 2 weeks before the scheduled interview. So does this mean she's going to need to make multiple trips to Georgia or can she do the medical exam in Azerbaijan (Medical exams are done in Baku, just not interviews).
The other issue is she has to surrender her passport to the consular in Georgia at her interview and it'll be shipped back to her (it actually says it'll be shipped back within Georgia). If she surrenders her passport she won't be able to get back into Azerbaijan.
Has anyone gone through the process where you had to travel to a different country because their country didnt do interviews and how were these issues addressed?
Multiple trips isn't ideal, but asking her to stay in Georgia for 2 or more weeks waiting on her visa to be returned seems a bit much.
Any help would be appreciated.
Mike
